Before I had a particular past life regression I had a great deal of trouble putting myself out there in the world. It wouldn’t have been a problem if my very means of earning a living didn’t depend on marketing myself to attract customers. I had tried working for others but I found my highly independent and rebellious streak didn’t bode well with employers. Plus I wanted to help others have more ease in life by investigating and healing the root causes for current life blocks. That meant this professional practice needed to work. Except I wasn’t getting very far.
I struggled to use my name in my business when I had heard many professionals in the spiritual field are openly ridiculed. I struggled to upload a photo of myself to my website when I knew this is what would help my clients decide whether we were an energetic match. I couldn’t understand why I was standing in my own way. There was no trauma or events in my past that could explain my difficulties. So I wondered if a past life could be responsible for this block. I have had past life regressions before but this was my first experiencing a process that I now use in my practice.
My past life as a Polynesian wild child
Did you know that you don’t have to believe in past lives for a past life regression to work wonders in your current life? Some reason that what we see is a creatively manufactured metaphor to make sense of our current lives. And my understanding of why I have difficulty with putting myself out there comes in the guise of a prepubescent naked black child.
I’m standing on the sandy shore of a small island in what appears to be the middle of nowhere. I’m carrying some kind of hunting weapon in my hand and there is no one around. I later learn that I am an abandoned illegitimate child. I have older half brothers and a mother who live in a tribe that I am not a part of. I am not allowed to be there because my mother’s father, a respected elder, has ordered it to be this way. I hunt and play in the jungle and it feeds and shelters me. My brothers sneak food for me and play with me when no one is looking. But ultimately I am unseen. My father was a seafarer who abandoned me and his father who felt guilty raised me on the outskirts of the island until I was old enough to fend for myself.
One day I am caught by the island tribe for stealing a rare fruit they use in ritual prayers. My mother’s father is humiliated in front of the elders and his tribe and as my punishment, I am indirectly ordered to my death. They would not directly kill my child self but I am ordered by my grandfather to stand by the shore and under no circumstances to enter the jungle. This means I am openly exposed to the harsh winds and I have no access to fresh water. And it is the exposure and dehydration that kills me.
Processing the past life
If you are familiar with Brian Weiss past life regressions, it is the exploration and witnessing of the past life that is understood to heal any issues in current life. But the process I experienced and now practice is different. Specifically because of the fundamental change that occurs in life afterwards but also because I resonate with the view that often the past-life self resides within us as a spirit attachment. Meaning that this past life self is still active within us as a sub-personality. They have their own thoughts, desires, fears and uncertainties which influence our own lives. Often it is after they have left us by being guided into the light that we begin to understand how great that influence can be.
During my past life regression session I learnt that this Polynesian child was still very afraid of being seen by others. He had been exiled and was expected to stay invisible. So every time I tried to make efforts to put myself out there I was stirring a very real fear within this child who lived within me. This is why it is important to ensure that any past live selves that are within us are guided into the light — where they will join loved ones in spirit — so that they do not influence our current lives with fears and circumstances that are no longer relevant to us.
After the past life is cleared and released
I cannot say that I experienced a massive change overnight from having that past life cleared. But little by little over the next six or so months I noticed the steps I needed to take to market myself were no longer feeling like such a big deal. I could just get on with it — as it should be. As you can see I now use my name and photo on my website and have taken other steps to put myself out there.
Bonus benefits to releasing a past life
What I didn’t expect was that there were other hidden benefits, and also explanations for past behaviours when growing up. One such reflection I had was that as a child I drank very little water despite living in the tropics of North Queensland. I also despised eating fruit as a sweet treat even though it was cheap and plentiful. As I became an adult both of these habits disappeared. The most striking example of why I subscribe to past life selves operating as sub-personalities is that overnight a dream I had for 10 years lost its allure and no longer became a dream of mine. And that was to have my own food forest. In hindsight, I can understand that this child would have felt very secure and wouldn’t have had to suffer the consequences of stealing that ritual prayer fruit if they had ease of access to their own food. Imagine that, it was such a strong dream and goal but it was never my own.
Over to you…
If you also struggle to put yourself out there and you don’t have any evidence of a reason for why that is the way it is. Or maybe for you it’s a test of wills every time you need to take a step that increases your visibility. I just want to say that it doesn’t have to be. You could go through conventional therapy or find good enough tools and techniques to reduce your struggle a little bit but never realise that your problem may not be rooted in your current life. And that’s why it’s worth seeing if a past life is the cause for why things are the way they are for you right now. Once the root cause is healed, the block is removed and only then can you experience more ease in life. It is my hope that I can help facilitate more Past Life Regression sessions that help break long-held negative cycles and patterns for more authentic and empowered living.
